I did not receive or I have lost my DMV renewal notice. What can I do?

A DMV renewal notice or RIN are not required to renew your registration with Cartagz.com. All you need is your license plate number, make and full VIN. Neither Cartagz.com nor the DMV can issue replacement renewal notices or provide the original Renewal Identification Number (RIN).

I have lost my original title. How can I get a replacement vehicle title?

I paid the DMV and have not received my sticker. How long does it usually take?

If you completed your DMV registration through Cartagz.com, it should take only a few days to receive your registration and sticker. If you paid your DMV registration renewal fees directly to the DMV, it may take up 4 to 6 weeks to receive your registration card and sticker. If it has been longer than 6 weeks, you could:

I am moving to California. How do I register my vehicle for the first time in California?

Can I legally drive my vehicle if I have paid my DMV fees, but I still need a smog test?

You must possess a validated registration card and current sticker affixed to the license plate to operate the vehicle legally. You can visit a DMV field office and request a temporary operating or move permit before your operate the vehicle. The DMV will usually charge a fee for a temporary operating permit.

How long do I have before I must notify the DMV of a vehicle purchase?

If you have purchased a vehicle registered in California, you will need to transfer the ownership within 10 days from the date of purchase. How do I locate my Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)?

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on your vehicle registration card and your vehicle title. The VIN is also located on the driver’s side dash-board, under the windshield and located on the driver’s side door jamb. This number is up to 17 digits in length and contains letters and numbers.

My registration is suspended. How do I get the suspension removed?

The DMV will suspend a vehicle registration if proof of insurance is not on file with the DMV. To remove the suspension, you must submit proof of insurance to the DMV and pay a reinstatement fee of $14.00.
